Programming Foundations & Tech Pathway – Level 1

A hands-on, beginner-friendly programme where students learn by building, coding, and designing. We start with programming fundamentals, then layer in web development, online safety, AI awareness, and robotics — all taught using clean coding principles and industry best practices. Level 1 is the Foundations Track in our long-term Tech Pathway and provides the core skills we build on in higher levels.

For the best learning experience, classes run in small groups with ongoing enrolment. Learners can progress from our Foundations Track (Level 1) into the Core Developer and Creator levels over time.

AI Course

Artificial Intelligence

Students explore AI tools like ChatGPT, DALL·E, Canva's AI features, and Google Gemini, learning prompt engineering and gaining insight into how intelligent systems work. We teach young people to use AI safely, creatively, and responsibly. Understanding AI is no longer optional — it is a core skill for the future and for the present, building critical thinking, digital confidence, and opening doors to future tech careers in a world increasingly shaped by artificial intelligence.

Web Development Course

Programming: Web Development

Kids learn to build modern websites using HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, JavaScript, and Canva. They'll also explore AI tools, the cloud, and how websites stay secure. This course blends creativity and code, giving children confidence to be digital creators and future-ready innovators.

Web Security Course

Online Safety & Cybersecurity

A must-have course for today's kids. We cover online safety for gaming, social media, and everyday browsing. Children learn about cybersecurity fundamentals, common threats, and best practices to protect their devices and personal info. This course empowers young users to stay secure and smart online.

Robotics Course

Robotics & Coding

Students will explore the exciting world of robotics by building and coding a small robot together in class. They'll learn how to control motors, lights, and sensors through simple programming and teamwork. This hands-on experience introduces key engineering, logic, and problem-solving skills in a fun and age-appropriate way, providing the perfect first step into robotics and future technologies.

We are a family-run business with over a decade of combined professional experience. Our mission is to support the local community by helping young people become safer and smarter online, especially when using social media or gaming platforms. We guide them to develop their confidence and technical ability in a way that is both safe and future-focused.

We offer a structured and supportive approach to digital education — tailored to help children of different ages build strong foundations in technology, creativity, and responsible online behaviour. While our current focus is on youth, our format and values are designed to grow with our learners, making it just as relevant for older children and teens, and expandable in the future to support adults as well.

Structured Learning & Skill Progression

Learners follow a clear, structured pathway designed by professional engineers and educators. Each micro-cycle focuses on real-world concepts—programming fundamentals, robotics, web development, AI literacy—taught using industry standards, clean coding principles, and best practices. Progression is intentional: students build strong foundations, reinforce them through hands-on projects, and develop the confidence needed to move into more advanced areas at the right time. Every skill taught is practical, relevant, and directly applicable in modern technology fields.

Milestone Reviews & Certificates

At the end of each micro-cycle, learners can take part in Milestone Reviews—short, supportive opportunities to demonstrate understanding through practical tasks. These are real-world style assessments that recognise growing capability. When a learner is ready, they earn IT Raccoons certificates and badges that reflect the skills they have mastered, enabling them to “level up” into the next stage at their own pace with no pressure or deadlines.

Real-World Application of Skills

Everything students learn is designed to be used outside the classroom. From understanding how websites are built to writing structured code, from controlling robots to applying safe and responsible AI practices, learners gain practical digital skills that are widely used in today’s workplaces.
